Severe weather and excessive rain by Tuesday afternoon

Weather Update

What to Expect

  • A line of strong thunderstorms moving through northern Alabama this evening could weaken before reaching our northern counties, but it will still be monitored closely.
  • A cold front arriving Tuesday will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms, along with the potential for severe weather and heavy rainfall.
  • Drier and somewhat cooler weather is expected by the middle of the week after the front moves through.
  • A high risk of dangerous rip currents continues along Florida Panhandle beaches through Tuesday evening. Boating conditions may also become hazardous Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday

Marine Conditions

Light to moderate west winds will continue through Tuesday evening. Boaters should be prepared for increasing winds and rougher conditions later in the week as winds shift out of the east behind the cold front.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected over area waters through Wednesday, with some lingering activity possible offshore on Thursday.

Rainfall and Flooding Potential
