A Fort Collins animal research lab previously cited for federal animal welfare violations has closed.
High Quality Research, also known as Red Beast Enterprises, shut down its research facility in east Fort Collins in May, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The lab “submitted a request to cancel its research registration under the Animal Welfare regulations” on May 18, and that cancellation was processed that day, according to the USDA.
