SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – All registered voters inside the Sioux Falls city limits will have five ballot questions to change the city charter.
In March, the Sioux Falls Charter Revision Commission voted to approve putting five different amendments to the city’s charter in front of voters. Each charter amendment would need to receive a simple a majority to pass on Election Day.

Here’s a look at the five ballot questions for Sioux Falls voters.
Amendment A: Update obsolete dates
This amendment would remove outdated election and budgeting dates from the city charter and let the city council choose new dates that would match state law.
This is needed because state lawmakers passed a new law in 2025 requiring county, city and school elections to be held in June or November in conjunction with state primary and general elections.
Amendment B: Budget amendment clarifications
