The chaotic day started on May 14 when Pete’s leash suddenly snapped during his neighborhood walk. But instead of running wild into traffic, the smart Beagle mix tapped into his natural tracking instincts. This specific hound heritage gives them an incredible tracking ability. So he put his nose to the ground and booked it straight down the busy Brooklyn sidewalks.

He eventually sprinted right up to the front entrance of Pooch Play and Stay. Admin manager Grace Bodkin told People that she suddenly saw something whiz past the door during her cleaning routine.
