MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Owners who purchased and saved a decades-old Cooper-Young coffeehouse two years ago are asking for the community’s help to repair major structural damage to the business.

Employees serving coffee to customers outside Java Cabana on Young Avenue on Tuesday wouldn’t say what happened inside, but on their GoFundMe page, the owners said that their cafe’s floors collapsed Monday night.
“In order to stay open and be the same Java Cabana, we need help raising funds to get our shop back in functioning order so we can keep serving the community!”
Java Cabana said they will have to fully replace and reframe their flooring, and any donation will help. The GoFundMe has already raised nearly $4,000.
On their Facebook page, owners said they also plan to host a few benefit shows to pay for the repairs.
