Man gets 20 years following north Austin homicide investigation

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was sentenced in October related to an April 2024 homicide investigation.

According to Travis County court documents, 24-year-old Jairo Velasquez-Lopez pleaded guilty to first-degree felony murder and was sentenced to serve 20 years in state prison.

The charge was in connection with the death of 39-year-old Lowen Alberto Ordonez Lobo.

Toward his sentence, Velasquez-Lopez received a jail time credit of 518 days…
