CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As temperatures begin climbing across South Texas, city leaders are reopening cooling centers across Corpus Christi to help residents stay safe during the hottest months of the year.

Officials announced four cooling centers will reopen this week as part of the city’s annual “Beat the Heat” program, an effort aimed at protecting seniors and vulnerable populations from dangerous summer temperatures.
