NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a man who is accused of using a bank card that was stolen in a car burglary to make $500 in purchases. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to police, the crime happened around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 17. Police say someone burglarized a Toyota Camry that was parked on Allard Boulevard near City Park Avenue.
Suspects accused of $100K damage at old Hammond church
Police say a purse with multiple bank cards was taken from the car. They say a short time later, a man used one of the cards to make $500 in purchases from the Walmart store on Tchoupitoulas Street in the Lower Garden District.
Police also released security camera footage of the suspect inside the store. While they say he made the purchases with a stolen bank card, they did not say if they think he also comitted the car burglary or had an accomplice.
