Early morning fire disrupts northwest Springfield neighborhood

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Firefighters responded to a backyard fire involving a car in northwest Springfield early Wednesday morning, with crews arriving to find a larger fire than initially reported.

Ozarks First heard from neighbors who witnessed the fire. They say fires being burnt in backyards in their neighborhood are a common occurrence.

One man says he woke up to what sounded like banging. He says he then saw embers from the fire falling from the sky and an orange glow from the flames when he went outside…
