Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County offering free summer meals for kids, teens

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County is providing free meals at several sites throughout summer for kids and teens.

Children who are 18 years old and younger can receive breakfast and lunch for free. They don’t have to be struggling economically to participate and no paperwork is needed, according to BGCKC.

The free meals program is designed to help bridge the gap for children suffering from food insecurity in summer while schools are closed, organizers said.
