Thousands without power in Alabama

ALABAMA — More than 4,200 customers across Alabama are currently without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 4,235 customers are without power statewide out of more than 2.6 million tracked customers. Alabama currently ranks fourth in the nation for both the total number of outages and the percentage of customers affected.

Calhoun County is reporting the largest number of outages in the state, with 3,024 customers currently without power. Jefferson County follows with 337 outages, while Shelby County has 290 customers affected.
