The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced the availability of low-interest federal disaster loans to small businesses and private nonprofit organizations in Alabama to offset economic losses caused by the drought that occurred on Dec. 1, 2025, and continuing.
The disaster declaration covers a number of Alabama counties, which includes Pike County along with other surrounding counties like Coffee, Dale, Barbour, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Covington, Crenshaw and Montgomery Counties.
Under this declaration, the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is available to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries and private nonprofit organizations, including faith-based organizations, with financial losses directly related to the disaster.
