CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Police Department released its May 2026 crime statistics, highlighting a significant increase in operating while intoxicated (OWI) arrests compared with recent years.
Police have made 227 OWI arrests so far in 2026, a 21% increase from the same period in 2025 and 23% above the five-year average, according to the department.
