OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A new green space opened in the Old Market on Wednesday, transforming a former parking lot into Lauritzen Gardens’ first satellite location.
The Polina Gardens opened at 9 a.m. with four distinct sections: a grass area, a gathering space with picnic tables, a rain garden and a whimsical garden.
“I jokingly called it the reverse Joni Mitchell where — instead of paving paradise and putting up a parking lot, we literally did the reverse,” said Mia Jenkins, Lauritzen Gardens director of marketing.
