Developers drop appeal against order to halt destruction of Ted’s Frostop

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The future of popular Uptown diner Ted’s Frostop remains intact after the last immediate threat was removed, the Preservation Resource Center announced.

Officials said the developers, who were picked by Tulane University, dropped their appeal of the City of New Orleans’ order to stop the demolition.

In March 2026, the university planned to build new apartment-style housing for undergraduate and graduate students at the historic site at the corner of South Claiborne Avenue and Calhoun Street.
