CREOLE TOMATO FESTIVAL: The 40th annual festival, hosted by the French Market District, will be held along Decatur Street on June 6-7. Events kick off on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Ripe & Ready Second Line, featuring a live jazz band and The Baby Dolls. The family-friendly festival includes Creole tomato food booths, live music at the French Market and Dutch Alley, free dance lessons, tomato-eating contests, Creole tomatoes for sale, the Miss Creole Tomato pageant and other free activities. www.frenchmarket.org/creoletomatofest/.

CLASSICS ON THE BOULEVARD: TerraBella Village will host its annual car show, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on June 6, on TerraBella Boulevard in Covington. The event is free to attend, and registration is now open for car owners for $20. Event highlights include a display of classic cars from all eras, oldies music, food and beverage vendors, networking and awards for best in show. BAYOU LIBERTY PIROGUE CHAMPIONSHIP: The Bayou Liberty Heritage Foundation will host the 69th running of pirogues and canoes on Bayou Liberty near Slidell on June 7. The day begins with a Blessing of the Pirogues at noon, followed immediately by the competition until 7 p.m. All events take place at St. Genevieve Landing, located 4 miles west of Slidell at the Bayou Liberty Bridge crossing, 58203 La. 433 in Slidell. The festival includes live music, food and beverage vendors, raffles and a large green space to watch the races. T-shirts, posters, concessions and music will also be available at Foggy Waters Marina across the bayou. NATIONAL TUCKS DAY: The Krewe of Tucks will host an evening of cold beer, questionable dance moves, glitter and laughs at Port Orleans Brewing Company, 4124 Tchoupitoulas St., New Orleans, 6-9 p.m. on June 9. SOUL-SIP AT NOMA: The New Orleans Museum of Art will host an evening of art, meditation and wine starting at 6 p.m. on June 3 at the museum, 1 Collins Diboll Circle, New Orleans. The program includes a seated meditation, a three-part wine tasting and gallery tours highlighting wine-related objects from the permanent collection.
