A federal bankruptcy judge on Monday signed off on the proposed sale of the troubled Leland House building at 400 Bagley St. in downtown Detroit that has been vacant since last year, when tenants — mostly low-income — moved out due to a mechanical issue that resulted in a power loss, Crain’s Detroit Business reports.
The building, which is owned by the estate of the late Michael Higgins, is being sold to Mudhish Development Co. LLC., which bid $3 million in an April auction, Nick Manes of Crain’s reports. Documents identify Raad Gobah of Hamtramck as a member of the entity.
Edward Gudeman, an attorney for Mudhish Development, told Crain’s in late April that it was “a little premature” to discuss plans, but said the company is “probably going to pursue the plans for the building that have already been created, with appropriate modifications.”…
