MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) – Oaklands Mansion is welcoming Rutherford County residents back to its grounds this Friday (June 5th), for the annual Lightning Bugs and Lemonade event. The evening runtime stretches from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, offering a mix of outdoor education, local art, and live entertainment.
Devin Weaver, an upcoming junior at Oakland High School and Milton native, provides the soundtrack for the night. Weaver plans to perform a blend of bluegrass, old country, and Americana music on the mansion’s back patio.
The event features two distinct outdoor educational paths. Master Gardener Connor Moss leads guests on a guided tour of the arboretum to share insight on the historic property’s plant life.
