Man drives 130 MPH in active work zone, leads troopers in pursuit on Howard Frankland: FHP

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A man is facing several charges after troopers said he led them in a pursuit on the Howard Frankland Bridge early Thursday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a trooper was conducting speed enforcement on northbound I-275 at 2:03 a.m. when he spotted a 2021 Tesla in the express lane.

The trooper obtained a speed measurement of the vehicle traveling 106 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The trooper activated his emergency lights and siren, but the driver allegedly accelerated to over 130 MPH in an active work zone…
