Flood Watch Issued for Southwest Iowa Counties as Heavy Rain Threatens Flash Flooding

A Flood Watch is in effect for southwest Iowa and parts of Nebraska from 1 p.m. CDT June 4 through late tonight as heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding.

In Iowa, the watch includes Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page and Pottawattamie counties. The alert headline lists the watch as continuing until 4 a.m. June 5.

Officials said repeated showers and thunderstorms could produce localized rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches. Rain could fall at rates of 1 to 2 inches or more in an hour in some areas…
