Behind the food at Riverfest: Vendors talk challenges and long prep

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Riverfest has been rocking in downtown Wichita, with the annual event drawing thousands to the city’s core. Along with the entertainment and kids’ activities, many people come for the food — which takes plenty of preparation.

Wichita native Aimee Henry has seen her fair share of Riverfests, having attended them since she was a kid, but this year is her first as a vendor. She has owned Sunshine Treats — a business selling various items, including candy and freeze‑dried fruits and vegetables — for five years.
