Contractors for the Buena Vista Road interchange at Interstate I-185 improvements project have scheduled a traffic shift to the interchange’s new diverging diamond pattern, starting Friday evening, June 5, from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am, through Saturday morning, June 6, weather permitting. Alert signage will be installed in advance to alert drivers of the scheduled change.
The Georgia Department of Transportation project has been scheduled to occur during overnight hours to have the least possible impact upon all drivers, local and commercial. During the pattern shift, the bridge will be closed to all traffic.
The ramps will remain open, but only those turning right onto Buena Vista Road from Interstate I-185 will be able to access the interchange. Those who turn left onto Buena Vista Road from the interstate will need to use a detour route using an alternate exit before or after the Buena Vista Road interchange. Detour signage will be in place throughout the event.
