Johns Creek to send offenders to Forsyth County Jail

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The Johns Creek Police Department has found a solution to its jail dilemma months after the closing of one of North Atlanta’s few jails.

At a June 1 meeting, City Council members gave the department the go ahead to seek an agreement with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office for use of its jail.

The city decided to go with Forsyth County despite the reopening of the former Fulton County North Annex Jail in nearby Alpharetta. In December, Alpharetta reopened the facility as the Alpharetta Detention Center, giving tours to officials from Johns Creek and other cities…
