‘Double Up Food Bucks’ program expands to 13 new Iowa locations

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative announced Thursday that its Double Up Food Bucks program is expanding to 13 new locations statewide, including a neighborhood corner store in Cedar Rapids and Hy-Vee in Marion.

The expansion comes as Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a $1 million state appropriation into law to support the program, following bipartisan approval from the Iowa legislature.

“Double Up Food Bucks continues to demonstrate that when healthy food is affordable and accessible, people use it,” said Jami Haberl, Executive Director of the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative. “With this new investment signed into law and expanded partnerships with retailers like Hy-Vee, we’re able to reach more communities and build on strong results across the state.”…
