Edwards residents say water is undrinkable

EDWARDS, Miss. (WJTV) – Town officials in Edwards said efforts are underway to address ongoing complaints about discolored and foul-smelling water.

Residents have reported that their tap water has a tinted appearance and unpleasant odor, leading some to purchase bottled water for drinking and cooking. Former Mayor Marcus Wallace said the issue is not new. According to Wallace, Edwards has dealt with tinted water for much of its history.

Wallace said a water treatment plant installed about 10 years ago improved the water’s appearance, but the discoloration eventually returned.
