Another Reflections Ministries executive arrested in attempted kidnapping case

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Another Reflections Ministries executive has been arrested in connection with an attempted kidnapping case involving the nonprofit’s founder, Lisa Bownds, and a one-year-old child belonging to a woman who was receiving care from the organization.

According to jail records, Reflection Ministries’ Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth Walker, was arrested on a warrant on June 3 in Houston. She’s also been charged with one count of Kidnapping, a third-degree felony. We’ve requested more information about her involvement in the case.

Lisa Bownds, who founded Reflections Ministries and was herself a victim of human trafficking, was arrested on June 2 on a warrant out of Midland County after a woman in the care of the non-profit said Bownds tried to taker her one-year-old child.

According to an affidavit, a woman living at “The Village”, a secluded living space for victims in Midland, went into labor and signed guardianship of her child over to Bownds in the event of a medical emergency. The mother did not relinquish her rights to Bownds…
