Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Carrier Enforcement Division conducted local commercial vehicle inspections recently in Lancaster, Dodge, and Douglas counties.
During these efforts, the Metropolitan Aggressive and Prevention Selective (MAPS) Team conducted 74 vehicle inspections. Troopers discovered 241 violations of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state law. Troopers placed 29 vehicles out of service (not allowed to return to the road). Additionally, troopers placed 3 drivers out of service.
Vehicles are placed out of service for a variety of reasons relating to bad brakes or tires, or other problems that pose immediate safety risks. Troopers issued a total of 22 citations during the inspections…
