Boise Mobile Market brings fresh, local produce without a set Price Tag

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — What if buying fresh produce didn’t come with a set price tag?

That’s the idea behind Boise’s Mobile Market, a partnership between City of Good and the Boise Farmers Market that brings locally sourced fruits and vegetables directly into neighborhoods across the city. The program operates using a “pay what you choose,” says Britt Udesen, Executive Director of the City of Good Model, it allows customers to pay anywhere from $0 to full retail price for produce, “no questions asked.”

Th goal? to create equal access to healthier food options that some people may not have the luxury of buying, all while supporting local farmers and strengthening Boise’s local food system. “We are a farming state, why not use that?” Says Udesen…
