SPOKANE, Wash.– A series of solar storms is expected to reach Earth on Thursday, giving much of the country a chance to spot the Aurora Borealis.
Commonly called the Northern Lights, the Aurora forms when charged solar particles ejected from the sun interact with our upper atmosphere. A Geomagnetic Storm Watch is in effect for a level 3 out of 5 storm.
If that upper end of the forecast proves true, even southern states could see the Northern Lights low on the horizon…
