HAWAII ISLAND, Hawaii (KHON2) — Hawaii Island Police are investigating a traffic collision that left one man dead.
On Wednesday evening, June 3, just before 5:30 p.m., police said a motorcycle was heading west on Kahakai Boulevard near the intersection of Niuhi Street when a motor vehicle heading east on Kahakai Boulevard attempted to make a left turn onto Niuhi Street. The motorcycle struck the car.
Authorities said the motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man of Pahoa, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. He was unresponsive at the scene and transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead…
