Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson Reunite On Screen After 20 Years

Additional Coverage:

Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson, beloved for their roles in the iconic teen drama Dawson’s Creek, are reuniting on screen for the first time in 20 years. The duo stars in the upcoming romantic drama Happy Hours, set to premiere at the 2026 Tribeca Festival.

This marks a significant return for both actors, who originally captured hearts as Joey Potter and Pacey Witter on the WB series, which aired its final episode back in 2003. Now, they portray Liz, a divorced photographer, and Andrew, a travel writer, two former lovers reconnecting after years apart in New York City.

Happy Hours is particularly notable as Katie Holmes takes on multiple roles behind and in front of the camera-she wrote, directed, and stars in the film. This project follows her previous directorial efforts, including All We Had (2016), Alone Together (2022), and Rare Objects (2023).

The film’s official synopsis describes a poignant story of rediscovery: through a chance photography assignment, Liz captures Andrew’s image, reigniting a connection that leads them to confront past wounds and consider the possibility of love once again.

In July 2025, Katie shared her excitement on Instagram, highlighting the joy of collaborating with Joshua again and expressing gratitude for the talented cast and crew involved. Alongside Holmes and Jackson, Happy Hours features notable supporting performances from Constance Wu, known for Crazy Rich Asians, and Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker.

Happy Hours will debut on June 4 at the Tribeca Festival, offering fans a heartfelt and mature exploration of love and second chances, two decades after Dawson’s Creek first captured the spotlight.
