NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A little after 6:00 a.m. on June 4, 2015, New Orleans police were at the scene where a body had been found along Interstate 10 by the Bullard Avenue exit. 11 years later, the case remains unsolved. It’s the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

A murder that stunned New Orleans remains unsolved 14 years later

The victim was identified as 16-year-old Kaylan Ward. The coroner’s office ruled that she died from blunt force trauma. The NOPD categorized it as an unclassified death, leaving open the possibility that Ward was hit by a car or perhaps killed and her body dumped along the interstate.

At one point, Crimestoppers doubled the reward to $5,000 and the NOPD announced a person of interest in the case. But 11 years later, nobody has been arrested.
