Two water rescues reported in Jackson County as flooding closes roads

JACKSON CO., Kan. (WIBW) – Emergency Crews responded to two water rescues earlier Friday Morning in Jackson County.

The first one happened around 2:45 a.m. after deputies received a report that vehicles had been washed off U.S. Highway 75 at Muddy Creek near the Brown County line.

Sheriff Tim Morse says a passenger car and a truck pulling a trailer were swept from the highway into fast-moving floodwaters, with one occupant in each vehicle…
