WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Beyond the Call donated 6,000 bars of soap to the Wichita Fire Department, the nonprofit announced Thursday.
The specialty soap, made by Firemen’s Friend in Wichita, is meant to wash off the harmful contaminants that firefighters pick up while on the job.
Beyond the Call — a nonprofit that focuses on the physical and mental health of firefighters — said long-term health risks like cancer are a major concern for firefighters, and giving them access to soap like this can help cleanse them of potentially harmful toxins.
Beyond the Call donates $4K to support Wichita Firefighter Wellness program
Money to buy the soap was donated by Fidelity Bank. Funds that were not used on these products went to the Wichita Fire Department.
