MADISON, Ala. — The company that owns the former Madison Inn & Suites has filed a lawsuit appealing the City of Madison’s order to demolish the fenced-off property, just days after the City Council voted unanimously to tear it down.
Town Center Senior Living, LLC filed the Notice of Appeal in Madison County Circuit Court late Thursday, asking a judge to determine whether the vacant motel at 8716 Madison Boulevard legally qualifies as a “dangerous building” under city ordinance. The filing comes after the City Council voted May 26 to order demolition of the 70-room property following a public hearing.
