Marshall County deputy survives tree crash on patrol cruiser

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A Marshall County deputy is back on duty after a tree fell on his patrol cruiser while he was driving through heavy rain Monday afternoon.

Deputy Will Isbell said he was driving through rain so heavy he couldn’t see the hood of his car when a full-sized tree crashed onto the vehicle. The impact deployed the airbags and brought him to an immediate stop.

He described glass and leaves everywhere and water rushing into the vehicle from the rain coming through the broken windows. He said the tree hit the car on the passenger side of the vehicle…
