KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — From road work to events, 6 News anchor Bo Williams is breaking down what you need to know before hitting the roads this weekend.
Several roads in Downtown Knoxville will be closed for Old City Knoxville’s Rhinestone Fest and the Bijou Jubilee. South Central Street between Jackson and Willow Avenues will close to vehicles at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 5. The road will reopen at 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 7. Gay Street between Cumberland Avenue and Main Street will close from 5 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. Find out more about the closure.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation closed a section of Woodson Drive on June 1 to build a roundabout as part of the ongoing Alcoa Highway Project. The road is expected to reopen by July 31.
TDOT also released a list of projects on state routes across East Tennessee counties. The projects will impact traffic between Friday, June 5, and Wednesday, June 10. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when workers are present and be aware of delays.

Gas prices across the United States have dropped nearly 20 cents in the last week, with Tennessee seeing a drop of 21 cents on average, according to AAA.
