Former East Hartford resident sentenced for defrauding Medicaid of over $100K

ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) — A former East Hartford resident was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison, execution of that time suspended with five years conditional discharge, for defrauding the Connecticut Medicaid Program of over $100,000.

According to the State of Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice, 49-year-old Glenroy Patterson of Jersey City, New Jersey, pleaded guilty to health insurance fraud on March 6.

An investigation determined that from March 2020-Dec. 2021, Patterson, a Licensed Board Certified Behavioral Analyst and owner of the autism specialty group Trading Spaces ABA, LLC in Glastonbury, billed for applied behavioral analysis services that were not provided.

The investigation discovered evidence that Trading Spaces ABA, LLC, was not meeting with clients as reported, but Patterson submitted claims to the Department of Social Services for payment. Fraudulent billing and received Medicaid funds totaled $102,084.17…
