RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond’s Manchester neighborhood got its own Hooper’s Store on Thursday that looks like it’s straight out of the friendliest street in the world.
Nonprofit Studio Two Three and RVA Community Fridges unveiled the Sesame Street-themed community fridge on Thursday, June 4, providing free food, drinks and harm reduction supplies on 15th Street. From 6 to 8 p.m., the fridge welcomed community members and volunteers for an afternoon of BBQ hangout.
Taylor Scott, founder of RVA Community Fridges, said the initiative works to address food waste in the community and provides fresh local produce to those in need.
