Five firearms and over $100,000 seized during South Sacramento gambling probe

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A suspected illegal gambling operation in South Sacramento County was shut down after a multi-agency investigation led to a search warrant served by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Central Division Problem-Oriented Policing Team (POP), with help from the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) and the Elk Grove Police Department, searched a location believed to be operating an unlawful gambling business.

During the operation, deputies found five firearms, casino-style gambling machines and electronic devices that investigators say may contain evidence. Detectives collected digital evidence, including hard drives and other storage media…
