LUTZ, Fla. – A seven-year-old boy from Lutz has died from injuries he suffered after being struck by a Tesla while riding a seated scooter last week, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on May 28 at approximately 8:15 p.m. inside the 17800 block of Cloudless Bliss Drive, just east of Skybrooke Boulevard.
State troopers reported that a 45-year-old Riverview man was driving a Tesla Model 3 westbound on Cloudless Bliss Drive when he failed to see the child, who was riding a Razor Crazy Cart Shuffle seated scooter. Investigators noted that the Tesla driver was not operating his vehicle in autopilot mode at the time of the collision.
