The one thing that is always constant in Amarillo is construction. Everywhere you turn, you see orange cones, barrels, and signs warning of lane closures ahead. It’s annoying and frustrating, and it affects your commutes. However, as annoying as construction can be, it can also be a good thing.
Construction is once again coming to Loop 335 near Arden Road. Yes, it will be the West Plains High School route. At the time, the construction will be a nightmare, but after it is finished, it will be much better. Or so we hope.
What the Loop 335 Project Actually Includes
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, Amarillo has received approval to construct the main lanes on Loop 335 from FM 2186 to Arden Road. The current roads are actually the access roads.

How Much Will This Construction Cost?
The project is expected to cost $47 million and is set to start at the end of 2026…
