Rescued Mountain Lion Cubs Make Their Public Debut at the Desert Museum

Visitors to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum now have the chance to meet two of the Sonoran Desert’s newest residents. Two rescued mountain lion cubs recently made their public debut, offering guests a rare opportunity to observe these remarkable animals up close.

The seven month old siblings arrived at the Museum through the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife after officials determined they could not safely return to the wild. Following veterinary evaluations and a carefully monitored adjustment period, the cubs have settled into their new home and are thriving under the care of the Museum’s animal care team.

Guests can watch the young mountain lions climb, explore, investigate scents, and interact with enrichment items throughout their habitat. While their activity levels vary throughout the day, the cubs are now regularly visible in the Mountain Woodland Exhibit during normal Museum hours…
