Jazz fans will find no shortage of exceptional performances this month at The Century Room, Tucson’s acclaimed jazz club and mezcal lounge located inside Hotel Congress. Known for bringing nationally recognized artists and rising stars to Southern Arizona, the venue’s June schedule features album tributes, internationally touring musicians, local favorites, and special celebrations.
Highlights include London saxophonist Alex Hitchcock’s Letters From Afar album release tour on June 11, New York saxophonist Adam Larson’s two-night tribute to jazz legend Michael Brecker on June 12 and 13, and a Juneteenth performance by Tucson’s acclaimed ensemble The Newest Sound on June 19. Other notable performances include bassist Mikailo Kasha’s all-star quartet on June 20, a tribute to Chick Corea’s Return To Forever on June 26, and a celebration of Anita O’Day and Oscar Peterson’s legendary collaboration on June 27.
