MOUNT VERNON, Mo. — A Mount Vernon man dies in a head-on collision.
It happened Friday morning shortly before 2:00am on Highway 39 in Lawrence County, just south of Miller. A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 36-year-old’s SUV was heading southbound and crossed the center line.

Troopers say it hit a sedan driven by a 32-year-old Greenfield woman going the other direction. She was taken to Mercy Springfield with serious injuries. The man died at the scene.
