‘Classic June gloom’ in store for Southern California before eventual warming trend: NWS

A series of low pressure systems will bring cloud cover to Southern California communities this week as part of a “classic June gloom” before temperatures rise later on next week, the National Weather Service says.

In the NWS Area Forecast Discussion, meteorologists explained that temperatures will remain “near to slightly below normal” throughout the weekend due to the low pressure systems moving through the region.

“Low clouds and fog will cover most of the coast and valley locations through at least mid-morning, clearing to near the beaches each afternoon,” NWS says. “The combination of factors will result in classic June gloom, low clouds and patchy fog across coasts and valleys.”…
