Kyle woman gets 20 years on intoxication manslaughter, DWI charges following fatal crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Kyle woman will serve 20 years in state prison in April in connection with a fatal February 2024 crash in Kyle.

According to Hays County court documents, 47-year-old Sonja Marie Marinkovic pleaded guilty to two felony charges.

One charge was for Intoxication Manslaughter, and the other was a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) charge, which records showed was enhanced to a felony due to Marinkovic having three or more offenses.

Documents showed Marinkovic was sentenced to serve 20 years in state prison for the Intoxication Manslaughter charge and 10 years for the DWI charge. Both charges are expected to run concurrently.
