Search underway for tuber that reportedly ‘did not resurface’ on Bogue Chitto River

FRANKLINTON, La. (WGNO) — Washington Parish deputies are searching for a missing tuber who is reportedly in the Bogue Chitto River, Sheriff Jason Smith announced Saturday.

According to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, they received a 911 call stating that an individual, who was tubing in the river, went under the water and did not resurface.

Along with deputies, volunteers from the District Six Fire Department, EMTs from Northshore Ambulance and a diver with sonar equipment responded to the scene.
