DES PERES, Mo. – A former officer has filed a lawsuit against the city of Des Peres, claiming he was subject to discrimination, retaliation and a hostile work environment that ultimately forced him to resign.
Gregory Van Mierlo, who served as a Des Peres public safety officer from 2013 to 2024, formally filed the lawsuit against the city on May 29, 2026 in the St. Louis County Circuit Court.
