METAIRIE, La. (WVUE) – An overnight train derailment caused significant traffic disruptions early Sunday (June 7) in a part of Metairie.
The derailment was reported around midnight near Metairie Road and Frisco Avenue, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities said no hazardous spills were reported, but multiple train crossings were left blocked at Labarre Road, Atherton Drive, Hollywood Drive, Farnham Place, West Oakridge Park, Metairie Road, Frisco Avenue and Carrollton Avenue…
